What is "Santa Maria Style Barbecue?"
Santa Maria Style Barbecue is a regional culinary tradition distinguished by local methods, native ingredients and a special seasoning, all of which combine for a uniquely flavorful taste of the Santa Maria Valley on California's Central Coast.
The traditional cuts of beef are top-block sirloin and tri-tip, a triangular bottom sirloin cut that originated in the Santa Maria Valley. The meat is rolled in a mixture of salt, pepper and garlic salt before being barbecued over coals of red oak, a native local oak species that contributes a smoky, hearty flavor. The classic Santa Maria Style Barbecue menu includes fresh salsa, grilled French bread dipped in sweet melted butter, tossed green salad and slow-cooked pinquito beans. What do you mean by "Fully Prepared"?
So that you can reheat our steaks and still have them rare or medium
rare, we've grilled them to 115-120*F. We must use
the term "Fully Prepared" per USDA regulations.
Can you ship to a P.O. Box?
Sorry, FedEx is our shipper and they say "no way". We must have a physical address for your recipient.
Can I BBQ my food when it arrives?
Yes. Your food will arrive frozen, just follow the reheating instructions enclosed with your package. Although we have oven directions, you can use your grill if you'd like.
Can I buy chicken or pork on BBQ2YOU?
Not at this time, but possibly in the future.
How long does it take for my order to arrive?
We ship all perishable food products 2nd Day Air via FedEx. Deliveries to California and some parts of Nevada will sometimes arrive the next day. The only exception is when we ship our seasonings, which are shipped ground delivery and usually arrive in 4-5 days.
How will my food arrive and what do I do with it?
Your food will arrive frozen and should be placed in the freezer upon delivery. We ship with dry ice to keep products frozen, but the dry ice usually has dissipated by the time you open your package. If there is dry ice visable, be sure to follow directions on handling. Never touch dry ice, please use gloves or oven mitt. As long as your products are frozen or chilled on arrival they are safe to store in freezer for up to 6 months. Our products can be reheated from frozen or thawed, follow directions enclosed with package. Also note, occasionally while packages are thawing they may leak from tiny pinholes that can occur during freezing and/or shipping. As long as the package remained frozen, and you refrigerate during thawing, this should not be a problem.
If I send this as gift, will the recipient know that it needs to be put in the freezer?
It is up to you to let the recipient know they have a perishable package arriving.
